Annual NFPA Aerial Inspections / NDT's
Every year NFPA requires your aerial apparatus to be inspected and tested up to the manufacturer's specifications and every 5 years an NDT (non-destructive test) needs to be done to be sure all bolts and pins remain safe and undamaged. Our testing includes a full undercarriage inspection to check all pump packings, hydraulic couplings/hoses, outrigger bolts and general visual inspection, and anything else that we see safety wise would be noted. We complete drift testing on both the outriggers and the ladder, ensure proper function of all controls including bucket controls and waterways, and check the weight limitations according to each ladders specifications. We flow water to check for leaks in the waterway as well as to ensure proper function of the pump and torque the turntable bolts down to the specified limit. Each test takes approximately 4 hours to fully complete and we are happy to assist in the movement, placement and swapping of equipment to keep your units in service as much as possible. All of our employees are CDL licensed drivers and qualified to operate all aerial devices.
